A finished file rarely explains itself. The reason for a change may be in a message; the next step may be in someone’s head. Fieldnotes is a place to write those things down.

The journal begins with a project handover and two shorter notes about naming files and leaving work unfinished. Each piece follows one small problem far enough to suggest something a reader can try.

About the material

Fieldnotes Studio is an independent editorial concept. The project situations are fictional; they are written to explore a way of keeping project records. They do not describe a client engagement or a released software product.
